How can I receive text messages and calls while connected with my eSIM?
While using your Hoam eSIM, you can still use another line for voice and text messages (SMS).
In order to use your primary line for voice and text while you enjoy your eSIM for data, you need to enable the primary line and set it up as your Default Voice line.
The data roaming may also need to be enabled depending on the requirement of your home provider.
This may incur roaming charges, so we highly encourage you to consult your home provider to learn about the charges before proceeding.
On iOS (iPhone):
Open Settings
Tap Cellular
Tap your Primary line
Toggle ON “Turn On This Line”
Go back to Cellular. Then tap “Default Voice Line”
and Select your Primary Line
Go back to Cellular page. This time select Cellular Data
and Make sure that you keep your eSIM selected for cellular data
On Samsung devices:
OPTION 1: Using Quick Settings Panel
Swipe down from the top of the screen (You may need to swipe down again to see the full menu).
You should be able to see CALLS | TEXT MESSAGES | MOBILE DATA. Tap on Calls.
Select your Main / Primary Line
Do the same for SMS
Make sure that you keep your eSIM selected for mobile data
OPTION 2: Using Settings
1. Open Settings
2. Tap Connections
3. Tap SIM card manager
4. Make sure both your Primary and your eSIM are ON.
5. Scroll down until you see the Preferred SIM card section
6. Tap on Calls
7. Select your Main / Primary Line
8. Do the same for SMS / Messages
9. Make sure that you keep your eSIM selected for mobile data
